ABOUT US

In February 1983, in the small community of Powell Butte, Oregon, the Oregon Hunters Association was conceived. A small group of individuals sponsored by the Wallowa Elk Hunters met and established procedures, rules, and goals to form a professional, well-organized, statewide organization. The mission of the OHA is to “to provide an abundant huntable wildlife resource in Oregon for present and future generations, enhancement of wildlife habitat, and protection of hunter’s rights.”

In support of our mission, the Tualatin Valley Chapter holds its annual summer cleanup project at the Tillamook Forest Center, annual spring cleanup project in the Tillamook State Forest, annual habitat enhancement project in the Tillamook State Forest, we encourage youth education by sponsoring an annual Youth Trap Shooting League at The Hillsboro Trap and Skeet Club, we donate to Mid-Columbia Turkey Youth clinic every year, and we sponsor two scholarships for our members for continuing education each year. Scholarships are available to any member of the Tualatin Valley Chapter of OHA, their children or grandchildren.

The Tualatin Valley Chapter also hosts an annual Christmas Party for its members, as well as a Spring Fundraising Banquet. These two events help raise funds to go towards providing abundant huntable wildlife resources, enhancement of wildlife habitat, and the fight for hunter’s rights.

For more information on our events and fundraisers or to get involved, please fill out the submission form on our contact page.
