Update: Recently received donations will be put toward the youth shotgun clinic and hunter/gun safety education. Mark Orr held a Hunter Education class, and all the participating youth will receive an OHA youth membership. Volunteers worked on the new blinds at Baskett Slough. We will hold the chapter holiday potluck on Dec. 1.

Update: Our chapter contributed 200 extra pheasants for the Denman Wildlife Area youth pheasant hunt Sept. 15-16. Members volunteered with all aspects of the hunt, including releasing pheasants Friday and Saturday evenings, running the trap shooting range, accompanying hunters without a family member chaperone, and handling field dogs.

Update: At the OHA Leadership Summit in August, our chapter challenged other chapters to support the Gilchrist wildlife underpass crossing fence project on Highway 97, by offering to double our $10,000 pledge if another chapter donated $20,000; the Rogue Valley Chapter accepted that challenge. Also in August more than 30 came to the 4th Annual Youth Shotgun Shoot in conjunction with the Newberg Rod and Gun Club in Dundee, where over half of the participants were first time shooters.
