Update: Our chapter joined with three others the week of June 17 for work and camping in the Ochocos. The Crescent Project took place July 14. The Wayne Elliott Memorial Youth Upland Bird Hunt will be on Nov. 17 at Leaning Tree Property in Powell Butte. Pre-registration is required; call 541-388-6363.

Update: Our chapter held the Youth Shotgun Skills Clinic on July 7, and the Aspen Project June 15-17. We again were among sponsors of the ODFW Youth Outdoor Day June 9. The board elected to add $500 to a TIP reward regarding a Silver Falls area elk that was killed, its antlers removed, then left to waste. We will offer two scholarships for attendance at Ladies Hunting Camp in 2019.

Update: Our chapter partnered with RMEF and the forest service for a weekend work project in April, where we took down well over a mile of barbed wire fencing and posts, to mitigate wildlife entanglement in elk winter habitat.
We also cleaned up the North Fork Umatilla campground and its environs. Another work party is planned at Divide Well, west of Ukiah.

Update: The chapter is donating $500 to the OSP Special Investigations Unit. We welcome our new chapter president Jordan Hicks, and thank Frank Hupp for his many years of service as board member, VP and President. Our new meeting place is the Kozy Korner restaurant, and the time has been shifted to 7 p.m.

Update: Instead of a general chapter meeting in June, we had a wonderful work party weekend at White River Wildlife Area June 8-10. We cleared and created access trails around two ponds. Chapter members helped with the Adults Learn to Hunt class July 14 at Canby Rod & Gun Club.

Update: We have teamed up with the Rogue Valley Chapter to help with the Butte Falls thinning project. The chapter family campout at Willow Lake was June 21-24, and it replaced the June general chapter meeting. Our Youth Day at All Sports Park was June 2.

We put on a BBQ Aug. 17 at Gerber Reservoir for youth antelope hunters and an FFA-4H BBQ at the fairgrounds Aug. 19. We joined with Badger Run, JSSA and Bill Scholtes Sportsman’s Park to hold free non-lead ammunition testing July 14-15. The following weekend was our chapter family

Update: Our chapter conducted a cleanup project on the Tillamook State Forest target shooting area July 14. Our youth event at the I’m Hooked and Free Fishing Weekend at Henry Hagg Lake June 2-3 was a huge success, with more than 1,200 kids registered, and ours being the most popular booth.

Update: Chapter members staffed booths at events in June, July, and August: the Northwest Mountain Challenge at the Hoodoo Ski Bowl area, the St. Paul Rodeo, and the Yamhill County Fair. We did not hold chapter meetings in July or August. Our chapter donated $1,500 to the Oregon State 4-H Shooting Contest. Members staffed a membership drive table at Sportsman’s Warehouse in July.
