We are excited to offer a 2-hour combo Learn to Hunt workshop covering two topics:

• Part 1:  How to select and purchase a hunting rifle (1 hour)
• Part 2:  Using digital mapping software to scout for big game (1 hour)

In the rifle class you will learn:

• What hunting cartridges and calibers are legal and suitable for Oregon’s big game animals
• What hunting rifles are legal and useful in Oregon
• How to select hunting ammunition
• How to sight in a rifle
• At the end of the class, you should be comfortable discussing rifles and be able to select a rifle to suit your needs

In the online scouting class you will learn:

• Key features of various online mapping software
• How to use waypoints and tracks in hunting scenarios
• Battery saving protocols
• Avoiding common pitfalls in the field
• How to identify potential big game habitat using online maps
• Strategies for navigating and hunting using your digital maps
